The default Smart scene resolves to real photography matching the time of day (dawn light at dawn, stars at midnight) and shifts automatically as the day moves. On the world clock, the same idea shows you at a glance which cities are awake: daytime cards go light, nighttime cards go dark.

Timers that can't drift
Every countdown is anchored to your system clock instead of counting ticks, so a throttled background tab can't make an alarm late. The tab title carries the live time or your running countdown, so you can watch it from any tab.
No permission prompts
The chime is synthesized in the page at the moment you set an alarm: no notification permission, no audio files, no autoplay battles. Wake lock keeps the screen on when a tool needs it.
Private by architecture

- Will alarms and timers work in a background tab?
- Yes. Deadlines are anchored to your system clock rather than counted in ticks, so browser throttling can't delay them. The chime fires on schedule. Keep the browser open; a closed browser can't ring.
- Do I need to allow notifications or install anything?
- No. The chime is synthesized inside the page when you set an alarm or start a timer, so there is no notification permission prompt, no audio file to load, and nothing to install.
- Does SmartClock work offline?
- Once a page is loaded, yes. Every tool runs entirely in your browser against your device's clock. No server is involved in keeping time.
- Is my data collected?
